Bioinformatics
Bioinformatics uses computational methods to solve biological problems.
Although often used in reference to analysis of genomic information, we prefer
a much broader definition. Missouri S&T's bioinformatics research program
specializes in visualization of biological data sets, parallel algorithm
development and algorithmic theory for biological data analysis, and management
of biological databases. For an example of Missouri S&T bioinformatics in
action, visit www.morphologynet.
