Dr. Xiaoqing (Frank) Liu has been a program chair of the international conference on Collaboration Technologies and Systems (CTS) for the past three years. CTS’13 was held in San Diego in May 2013, CTS’12 was held in Denver in May 2012, and CTS’11 was held in Philadelphia in May 2011. CTS focuses on a broad spectrum of methodologies and technologies that relate to cooperation, coordination, communication, and collaboration.  [July 16, 2013]

Dr. Bruce McMillin, Professor, was recently named as the Program Chair for the 14th International Conference on Quality Software (QSIC) to be held in Boston, MA, in August 2014.  The QSIC series of conferences has a long tradition of bringing together researchers and practitioners to present and discuss innovative methods of assuring software and system qualities.  QSIC is sponsored by the IEEE Computer Society. [July 12, 2013]

Dr. Ali Hurson, Professor, was named Program Chair of the 38th IEEE Computers, Software, and Applications Conference (COMPSAC) to be held in Vasteras, SWEDEN, July 21-25 2014.  COMPSAC is the IEEE Signature Conference on Computers, Software, and Applications.   It is one of the major international forums for academia, industry, and government to discuss research results, advancements and future trends in computer and software technologies and applications.  [July 10, 2013]

Dr. Sriram Chellappan’s undergraduate research students Levi Malott and Pasha Palangpour have been selected as finalists for the Frank J. Redd Student Scholarship Competition as part of the 27th Annual AIAA/USU Conference on Small Satellites to be held in August 2013 at Utah State University for their paper entitled "Small Spacecraft Software Modeling: A Petri Net-Based Approach". Only six papers are accepted from across the country as finalists in a competition including both undergraduate and graduate students. Selection as a finalist entails them to a $1500.00 scholarship, which will increase to $10,000.00 if they are selected as winners. Selection for winners is after a paper presentation round with judges drawn from industry, academia, and government. [May 24, 2013]
